For the Gestures show at Mattress Factory, curator Heather Pesanti asked everyone
participating to take inspiration from an essay by Robert Smithson and Mel Bochner
about an apocalyptic landscape. I created a lo-tech sign made from reflective adhesive
vinyl. It was almost invisible during the day and briefly lit up each night whenever a
car drove past—giving everyone who glimpsed it a little less to worry about.
